ANDREW COLQUHOUN

Andrew Colquhoun offers both Counselling and Mentoring at The Wellington Centre. He was awarded a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Roehampton University, one of the UK’s leading colleges in this field. He also holds a Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. In addition, Andrew  has an MBA degree from the City University Business School, which he draws on in his work in order to adopt a strategic approach to clients' issues, where appropriate.

Andrew is an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which is the largest professional body in the UK for counselling.

Andrew has 15 years experience as chief executive of two national organisations. During this time, Andrew also volunteered with The Samaritans, which inspired him to follow a new path. In addition to his private practice, Andrew is currently serving in a voluntary capacity with two counselling agencies in Sussex, working with client issues such as depression, anxiety, phobias, relationships, life changes, personal development, stress, and low self-esteem. In his private practice, he has worked with a number of clients with career-related issues. Andrew uses the techniques of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for those clients who think that this approach might help them.

Also in a voluntary capacity, Andrew has been working as a mentor with head teachers in London through Business in the Community since 1999 and set up a Mentoring programme for Year 11 students at a South London comprehensive. Andrew has also been a mentor for MBA students at CASS Business School, and he is currently fulfilling a number of non-executive roles.
