CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY (BIODYNAMIC)
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy uses gentle touch to sense the subtle patterns of motion in our bodies that determine wellbeing. The therapist can facilitate release in areas of restriction, allowing self-healing processes to begin and readjustment of the body as a whole.
Working in a safe and comfortable space, the practitioner uses very gentle hand contact at various places on the body: the feet, head, shoulders and lower back - not always at the place where symptoms are felt. The client lays on the couch or sits, fully clothed. The practitioner tunes in to the body, sensing where there is imbalance or disturbance, and supporting release or resolution. This allows the body’s self healing mechanisms to work more effectively again, leading to changes and improvement in health throughout the whole person.
Clients will usually find the treatment very relaxing, perhaps becoming aware of sensations of warmth or tingling in specific places in their body. It can be deeply moving and exhilarating. Sometimes, where there is trauma in the body, a person may experience emotions or memories relating to a past event. The therapist is trained to help the client to resolve these experiences, whilst feeling safe and grounded.
How can Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy help me?
Past experience, such as accidents, illness and trauma can be held in the body and create pain and dis-ease. When these issues are resolved, symptoms improve and we feel better, have more vitality, feel more ‘ourselves’.
Sessions are usually deeply relaxing and with subsequent treatments this release of tension often extends into everyday life. Treatment can address physical aches and pains, acute and chronic disease, emotional or psychological disturbances.
It can also help to develop well-being, health and vitality. Sometimes improvement of a problem will occur immediately, other times it may be gradual or not noticed until you are in a situation where it would usually occur.
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy puts no external pressure on the body and is therefore suitable for everyone, including newborns, children, pregnant women, and adults in the most fragile conditions.

In most cases it is recommended you have a course of three to six weekly sessions to begin to feel the benefits of biodynamic craniosacral therapy, particularly if there is a specific problem you wish to see change with. Long term problems may take many months to change, the frequency of treatments decreasing over that time to allow the body to adjust after each session. Many people choose to continue long term with monthly treatments to maincraniosacraltain the health and vitality which sessions can help to develop.

Clients testimonial
'We took our tiny new baby to see Caraline at the Wellington Centre as we were feeling a little desperate for some help and had read about her parent and baby session. We were exhausted from a traumatic birth experience, lack of sleep and stressed out with a feeling that everyone had expected us to be 'naturals' and at that point we didn’t feel it at all. We had no expectations at all but her calmness was just lovely, the treatment very gentle, and we felt very secure in her presence. The irony was that my usually cynical husband booked a further session for just himself!' Family M, Hastings
