When can I expect results?
By taking one or two classes each week, you will feel better in two, three weeks. In about two months, not only will you realise that your overall well-being has significantly improved, but you will also be visibly stronger, your entire posture will look different. Many people feel that they look taller.

What happens in a class?
Every Pilates session starts with a thorough warm up to reduce the risk of injury and maximise the benefits of your training.  Equipment classes follow a routine that addresses the needs of your body, whilst also offering a range of variation and new exercises each time to ensure that your classes are not only beneficial but also enjoyable. Though no two classes are the same, all the major muscle groups receive the right amount of exercise is each session. Pilates is not about repetition. Exercises are rarely repeated more than 5-8 times. Precision and control over which muscles are used during an exercise form the core of your training. Pilates requires attention and concentration. You need to listen to your instructor and your body.

What results can I expect?
Pilates is about being in harmony with and in control of your own body. Its methodology ensures that no muscle, ligament or joint is either neglected or over-exercised at the expense of another. Your initial results are likely to be minor changes that you might not even notice. When you have a backache because you sit a lot at work, you know that it hurts. Pilates can change that. Your back will no longer hurt, and you might not even realise it. Your neck and shoulders may be stiff because you've had to stare at the computer all day. Pilates can change that as well. You will be able to turn you head, lift an arm, and reach where you could not before. You will enjoy the freedom of mobility and flexibility without realising that it is the result of your weekly Pilates classes.
Pilates does not focus on building beefy surface muscles. Your Pilates classes concentrate on strengthening those core muscles that hold your body, so you can walk, sit, stand, work and live a comfortable and healthy life. Pilates is not power-training, but can help even those whose ultimate aim is muscle-gain to prevent and remedy imbalances and the negative effects of gym training.
Pilates is also a very good way to start a new life-style if you are planning to lose weight. Though Pilates does not replace a healthy, balanced diet, and its ultimate aim is not weight loss, it does help you to improve your shape, increase your mobility and strength regardless of your size. Accompanied by a carefully-designed, healthy slimming diet, Pilates can help you to avoid the yoyo effect, and can enable you to reshape your body without the rush and stress of intensive fat-burning training programmes that often result in greater weight gain once the training is over.

What is the magic of Pilates?
Pilates improves the quality of your everyday life. The little pains in the knees, your back, your neck or shoulders will be gone. The stress and the tightness of your muscles that make you feel tired, clumsy or uncomfortable will disappear. You will enjoy free movement, flexibility and greater stamina regardless of your age, weight or build. Not only will you look different, you will feel different. You will feel better, freer, healthier, every day, whether you are at work or at home, spending time with your family or friends, taking part in a social event or enjoying a hobby. Pilates will become a part of your everyday routine and will make you aware how you can correct your bad movement patterns and replace them with good ones.
