VOICEWORK CIRCLE with NARAYANI
Dates: Friday 5th September, Friday 17th October and Friday 12th December
Price: £10.00 for two hour session

Voicework offers you an experience of your voice, your unique expression, and sense of connection to a greater whole. Narayani combines chanting, mantras, sound and song in a way that will both support and expand you. The practices she offers will bring out new voices and emotions. This helps to surface the patterns and habits that emerge when you seek to express yourself. Singing and sounding in this way helps to release stuck energy and emotions, leading to a sense of lightness, clarity- and often a new kind of stillness.

Voicework is safe and fun for people with no previous singing experience and rich enough to inspire and challenge those who have been practising voice work regularly. You’ll learn how to use your voice as a tool for expressing what you really feel, accessing the inner ‘voice’ of wisdom at your centre. Narayani skillfully combines ancient and modern techniques to open your voice and open your heart. These are based on the Indian Chakra system which unites body and mind energetically, incorporating ancient spiritual mantras that are said to be infused with intention and universal power. They draw upon techniques taught by the Naked Voice and all combined serve to empower us in a group and as individuals.

TRIGGER – POINT THERAPY
Dates: Saturday 4th and Saturday 11th October, 2.00 - 5.00 p.m.
Price: £50.00 for two half days

Trigger – Point Therapy reveals the causal relationship between chronic pain and its source. Muscular pain and dysfunction is relieved through deep pressure applied to specific points in muscles. The therapy can also assist with the redevelopment of muscles, the increase in flexibility and in the restoration of mobility to joints. It is readily integrated with other forms of soft-tissue treatment and can also be used alone as an “emergency relief technique” when time and circumstances don't allow for a more in-depth treatment, often bringing rapid relief from referred pain and limited movement. Understanding trigger – points enables you to work in a very precise way to locate the root cause of a client's muscular pain.

Pre requisites

Students need to hold a qualification in Massage and Anatomy & Physiology level 3 or be in the process of training to this level.

Workshop details
This course is awarded 5 cpd points. Certification on completion.

ASHTANGA WORKSHOP with ANDRIA DEGENS
Dates: Saturday 20th Sept, 25th Oct and 6th Dec, 10 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.
Price: £25.00 per workshop

A special Ashtanga Yoga Workshop with Andria Degens: "Connecting Heaven and Earth".

When we practice Astanga Vinyasa Yoga, we are essentially cultivating our connection between the Earth and the Heavens through the utilization of four components; Ujjayi Breath ("Victorious Breath"), Vinyasa ("Synchronised Movement with Breath"), Bandha ("Energy seal/lock") and Dristhi ("Gaze point"). When we fully connect to the Earth there is a simultaneous lift within the body towards the Heavens, creating heat and space for healing to spontaneously occur. This healing allows the mind and spirit to expand into full consciousness.

During this 2 ½ hour Workshop we will explore:
“Fundamental Openings, Foundations and Alignment”: Looking at the relationship between the major joints of the body, their true range of movement, and the energetic alignment within the Asana (posture).
"Ujjayi breath": The internal thread that is intrinsic to a glorious and fully connected practice.
"Rooting down": The Mula Bandha comes to light – the effects of Mula Bandha on the breath, alignment, focus and inner strength.
"Flying up": The energetic and physical functions of Uddiyana Bandha. We will take a look at the jumping back and the jumping through which is integral to the practice of Ashtanga Yoga.
"The power of Intention": The art of gazing toward the Dristhi. Focusing the mind inward.
"The power of appreciation: Leaving ‘yourself’ at the door": Offering heart-felt thanks through the Sanskrit chant of the opening and closing prayers. Translation of the chant and tuition.
"The Healing Time": Final relaxation - the letting go.

This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as experienced practitioners of yoga. You will be given free handouts at the end to help facilitate your practice. And there will also be free tea and a snack in the kitchen after class.

Limited to only 8 students per workshop so that Andria can give close attention to each student. So please make sure you book well ahead of time to ensure your place.

To book your place now call Andria on 07583 708716 or email her at

ASHTANGA YOGA 4 WEEK BEGINNERS COURSE with ANDRIA DEGENS
Starts: Thursday 9th October, 7.15 p.m. - 8.15 .pm.*
Price: £40 for the 4 week course

Ashtanga Yoga is the original dynamic form of yoga as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. The three key elements: synchronising of the breath with movement (vinyasa), the sequence of postures (asanas), and the gazing points (dristhi), bring about a strong and flexible body and mind. The heat created internally during practice allows for toxins to flow out of the body, cleaning the blood and all internal organs. This detoxification is fundamental to the stilling of the mind and attaining inner peace.

In this four-week beginners' course you will learn the fundamental elements (as mentioned above), giving you a solid foundation for your practice of Ashtanga Yoga. *LIMITED TO ONLY 8 STUDENTS TO ENSURE INDIVIDUAL INSTRUCTION, this course you will enable you to feel confident enough to join the open level classes and the monthly workshops. You will also be introduced to the concept of Mysore Style Self Practice, which is the traditional method of teaching this particular form of yoga. This method of teaching empowers the practitioner by deepening their understanding of their own practice at their own pace, whilst still practicing within a group with individual guidance from the teacher.

You will receive a special informative handout including a resource list to facilitate a little home practice.

Places are limited to only 8 students per course, so please book your space as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
