About Martin Oakley
I qualified at Wealden Psychology College, one of UK’s leading colleges based in East Sussex. I hold a Diploma in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy, fully accredited by the BACP.
I work only with Young Adults (16 years +) & Adults
My past experience includes working for CRUSE Bereavement organisation working with people experiencing loss. CRI and Forward Trust working in the Prison Service (HMP Lewes), working with people with substance misuse issues as well as dual diagnosis (mental health and drug &/or alcohol issues).
As part of my commitment to supporting the local community, I volunteer at a counselling charity organisation.
I am a fully registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I work within accordance with their Ethical Framework Guidelines.
Therapy is about offering a supporting safe contained environment to talk about the issue to
gain understanding and knowledge, relating to the problem. I provide the environment Client’s need to support this process, to what is happening in their world.
I appreciate entering into therapy is sometimes not an easy thing to do. However, having the opportunity to talk freely to someone, without being judged or shamed, who really listens, can help make the difference, they are looking to enhancing their life.
