Ashtanga Yoga Beginners Course
Ashtanga yoga is the original vinyasa based style of yoga. A dynamic and physically challenging practice, synchronising breath with movement (vinyasa) through a set sequence of postures (asanas) develops strength, stamina, flexibility and a presence of mind.
This course provides an introduction to the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga method, offering a structured and progressive way to learn step by step over the 6 weeks. During the course we will cover the fundamentals of the practice, including breath, bandhas, sun salutations, asanas and a simple closing sequence.
An info booklet is included as part of the course to encourage you to begin some home practice, so as to get the most from each session.
A basic level of fitness is helpful when starting Ashtanga Yoga. Suitable for intrepid beginners and for those with some experience of hatha yoga who wish to take their practice to another level.
