Mysore-Style Guided Self Practice
MYSORE SELF PRACTICE is the most effective and safest way to learn Ashtanga Yoga. Each student is given the opportunity to maintain a practice at their own level, and learn the set sequence of postures at their own pace. The teacher gives individual instruction to each student with hands-on adjustments and assists. Self-practice classes have students of mixed levels and abilities practicing side by side. This style of practice encourages an inward focus, creates the sense of a ‘moving meditation’, and develops a real understanding of Ashtanga Yoga and the benefits it brings to all aspects of life. Beginners initially need to allow approx. 45 mins per class, with the potential of building up over time to 1 ½ to 2 hours class once a full series of postures is being practiced.
First class of each month is Full Primary Series Led class.
Suitable for: Students of ALL levels.
Visiting students with existing practice are welcome.
(complete beginners to yoga are recommended to take a private one:one class before starting Mysore Self Practice program)
