Christopher Rolls

Hi, I’m Chris and I’m a UKCP registered psychotherapist working with individuals, and couples. My training is in transactional analysis, a psychodynamic and relational model of psychotherapy, which I trained in at the Metanoia Institute in West London.

I have been in private practice for five years.

My approach is inclusive and anti-oppressive, aimed at affirming you, your unique identity and presence in the world. I’m also proudly an LGBTQ+ affirmative therapist, used to working with clients who have minoritsed parts of identity and experience.

Alongside therapy, I work for a social enterprise helping organisations (such as local authorities and voluntary sector groups) engage inclusively with the public and co-create projects with their communities.

My philosophy is that we are not isolated individuals with individual issues, but social beings intimately connected in webs of relationships.

About therapy with me

I practice a relational and client-led form a therapy in which you set the agenda and we work on the issues you wish to address and changes you would like to make. I will not be a ‘blank screen’, merely nod and ask you questions – but you, your needs, and experiences, will be the focus of our time together.

We will form a clear contract with each other about how we will work, the length of time we’ll take, and the direction we’re travelling in. We’ll keep checking in to make sure you are benefiting from the experience of therapy.

After an assessment and introduction session with me, we’ll both consider whether we feel it would be right to work together.

I offer weekly face-to-face sessions, in person as well as online. Sessions last 50 minutes for individuals, 70 minutes for couples.

Client confidentiality is fundamental to my practice.
