Qigong is an ancient Chinese tradition of movement, breathing and meditative techniques. It helps us discover our natural state of health and happiness through a body-centred approach to meditation.
The huge increase in stress and stress related illness in the 21st Century has led to a resurgence in the in the popularity of Qigong, due to its emphasis on developing mental and physical fitness, and enhancing energy and vitality. Today, Tai Chi Qigong is one of the most popular Qigong in the world; practiced by over 10 million people, and considered a national health exercise in Malaysia and Indonesia.
Qi (chi, ki), is the subtle energy that animates us and connects us to the wonder and energy of all life. Gong means art or work and what you are learning is the art of internal energy.
Qigong is based on the principles of traditional Chinese Medicine and the gentle, rhythmic movements are designed to allow Qi to travel freely through the meridians and acupuncture points of the body. The breathing and meditative techniques bring a deep sense of peace and relaxation, calming the mind and allowing us to connect with our inner potential and higher wisdom.
Tai Chi Qigong is an 18 form flowing Qigong, based on some of the best movements from the yang style Tai Chi Chuan, which can be practiced by people of all ages and levels of fitness. You will also learn other Qigong forms, such as the 8 Strands of Brocade, 5 Element Qigong and seated meditation.
