Katharine Williams

Deciding to come to therapy and finding a suitable counsellor can be a daunting experience.  You may be feeling lonely, anxious or depressed or struggling with a stressful life event or unhappy relationship.

With over 20 years’ experience as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, I can help you begin to explore your issues and difficult feelings within the safety of a confidential and supportive counselling relationship.  I offer brief or longer-term counselling to adults for a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, addiction/s, sexual abuse, stress, trauma.

As an Integrative Therapist, I can draw on and tailor specific techniques using Psychodynamic, CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) and Solution Focused approaches.  Working shorter term can help you address your current problems to help find new solutions; whilst longer term therapy can help you explore past and present concerns to help gain insight and effect more lasting change.

I am experienced in offering Face to Face, Online and Telephone Counselling.  I also provide Clinical Supervision for trainee and qualified Counsellors, plus support for employers/employees, managers, senior executives and self-employed people.

My fees start at £45 for an Initial Consultation and range from £50-60 for ongoing therapy and all sessions last for 50 minutes.

To book an Initial Consultation, or to talk through your personal issues to begin with, please contact me on 07545 258649 or send an email to katharinewilliamstherapy@gmail.com. Or for more information visit my website at: katharinewilliamstherapy.co.uk.

More About Me and the Counselling

Within the counselling relationship you will receive on-going support and feedback and begin to gain personal insight and understanding.  Giving words to your story and paying attention to your mind, body and feelings in therapy can help you increase your self-awareness, learn new coping strategies, gain new perspectives, alleviate anxiety, improve your mood and heal some of your past trauma, hurts or disappointments.

I qualified as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor in 2002, gained a CBT Skills Certificate in 2012 and a post-graduate Supervision Training in 2016.  In addition, I have 20 years' mental health experience working across the NHS and Voluntary Sector, as a Counsellor, Chief Executive/Director and Senior Project Manager.  I hold current Professional Indemnity insurance, an enhanced DBS certificate; and undertake regular post-graduate training and personal therapy.
