Why letting go and why now
You're already doing everything right. Moving daily, stretching, taking your supplements, following a breathing app. And still, nothing much changes. The usual conclusion is to try harder, or to look for the one more thing that's been missing.
I think the problem runs the other way. Think of your wardrobe. You can't keep piling things in forever — at some point, something has to come out before anything new actually fits. Adding another routine on top of everything else doesn't bring clarity. It just adds weight to what's already there.
This is exactly why autumn is the right season to be having this conversation. In Chinese medicine, autumn is the season of Metal — the element of shedding, of keeping only what's essential. It's the one time of year the body is naturally primed to let go, not add more.
You can see it outside right now. The trees aren't losing anything by dropping their leaves. They're simply revealing what was underneath all along — their own structure, standing clear.
Underneath everything you've been stacking on, the routines, the supplements, the apps, is a structure that was always yours. Letting go doesn't take anything from you. It's how you find it again.
If this is a season where you'd like some support letting go, I'd love to welcome you to Qigong.
